Newest Stuff!

June 28, 2023 By lee 9 Comments

Thanks for stopping by to hear about some of the crazy awesome things we have going on.

🥳

First and foremost… drumroll please… we are now the sole owners of The Cottage.

We were able to buy out Lee’s mom at the beginning of the year. This helped her initiate retirement and us continue living out our mission of hospitality by making all of your treehouse dreams come true.

So it’s just the three of us now; Lee, Keely, and the infamous Maple Bacon. She continues to be the best property manager ever. As a fun tribute to her, we commissioned Lee’s mom to do the artwork on 13 pictures of our fabulous property where Maple is hidden in each one of them. You can purchase these as blank cards at our gift shop.

Speaking of, we just got our newest order of mugs and T-shirts in. These make great reminders of your time in the trees or gifts for loved ones. Just tuck a gift certificate inside and quickly jump to the top of everyone’s favorites list.

There are a few things that you will notice as different on your next visit. We hired our oldest daughter, Julie, to help us improve the interior design and decoration.

Notably, you will see new luxurious down comforters in the winter months, and silky smooth cooling blankets in the summer months.

We have a new variety of pillow thickness, teak shower mats, some useful toiletry items, and a fun sticker to brighten your day.

We have also installed security cameras above your exterior door and echo dot inside to help answer questions like, “Alexa, what do I need to do for check out?” Or “Alexa, where is the nearest pizzeria?”

🥰

We are currently in the process of power washing and re-staining all the decks, re-roofing the main building, and setting up a beautiful outdoor patio area with lights. It’s all so dreamy.

Last, but not least, we want to make sure that you’re getting all the information you would like from us. We will be much more active on Facebook and Instagram, so be sure to follow along there. You’ll be awed by promotions and informed with helpful and fun tips about town.

Thank you all so much! Without you, we wouldn’t exist. Nor would our lives be as full of laughs and purpose and coffee book stories as they are now.
Cheers!

Book your next dreamy stay!

2019 Hermann Wine Trail – Farmers’ Wine Trail

April 11, 2019 By lee Leave a Comment

This is the second time the Farmer’s Wine Trail has been promoted and hasn’t disappointed yet. Keely and I have the best memories of the food and wine from last year that we couldn’t wait to experience it again.

One of the things we loved about this trail was the food but also getting to talk to the farmers and producers. They are so knowledgeable about their products and how to raise quality foods.

Adam Puchta Winery

Dish – Beef Stew with Cornbread. This was the heartiest dish throughout the Trail. Bold flavor and excellent taste

Wine – Situation Red

Visit Adam Puchta’s website

Bias Winery

Dish – Creamy Chicken Florentine. Oh so delish! The creaminess of the dish really brought out the chicken flavor.

Wine – Liebeswein

Visit Bias’ website

Dierberg Star Lane

Dish – French Roasted Pork with Apple Cream Sauce. The apple and the pork completely fused into one another to create a whole new tasting experience

Wine – Cabernet Sauvignon

Visit Dierberg’s website

Hermannhof Winery

Dish – Cream Cheese Raspberry Crepe Cake. This was almost our last stop which was so nice to have a sweet among the savory. Kudos to Hermannhof Winery for such a great mixup to the day!

Wine – Vingnoles

Visit Hermannhof’s website

OakGlenn Winery

Dish – Meatballs and Coleslaw. Another beautiful day and great music too. We even met the lady that adopted our two dogs. Such a small world. =)

Wine – Blush

Visit OakGlenn’s website

Röbller Vineyard

Dish -White Wine and Mushroom Risotto with Spring Vegetables, finished with Cool Cow Asiago and Brown Butter. Keely and I so enjoy coming here first. It definitely sets the tone of the day to have something this fantastic!

Wine – Reserve Vidal

Visit Röbller Vineyard’s website

Stone Hill Winery

Dish – Corn Chowder topped with Crumbled Cornbread. Finished up the day with this wonderful pairing. The cornbread on top was the “icing on the cake” for this Wine Trail.

Wine – Chardonnel

Visit Stone Hill’s website

Check out the Hermann Wine Trail page for more great events!

2018 Hermann Wine Trail – Say Cheese

December 17, 2018 By lee Leave a Comment

Just gotta start off by saying that I love cheese.  It’s one of my favorite toppings, fillings, and snacks of all time.  I have fond memories of eating a simple quesadilla with my mom when I was growing up.  One of my other favorite dishes is Velveeta Cheese with Rotel tomatoes.  That one’s been handed down for generations in my family.  And who can deny one of the festive cheese balls that adorn the tables at holiday parties.  So, needless to say, I get very excited for the Say Cheese Wine Trail in Hermann every year.

The line up for this year’s Say Cheese Hermann Wine Trail was savory, to say the least. Sampling sandwiches, soups, and Sauvignon made such an amazing afternoon for Keely and I.  We always enjoy getting some time away to ourselves, talking about the future, our kids, and other random topics like where is the show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. headed (our family binge-watching experience this year).

Throughout the year we want you to enjoy what life has to offer.  Our tree houses in Missouri is one way to do that, but there are so many more experiences to be had in Hermann.  If you have any questions about a quick getaway for your family or maybe just for two, give us a call and we can make your stay with us memorable.

2018 Hermann Wine Trail – Holiday Fare

November 26, 2018 By lee Leave a Comment

The holidays are here!!!  Thanksgiving has come and gone, the weather is getting colder and more snowy and Christmas time is making its way into our hearts through carols and Christmas spirit.  Spending time with Keely is always one of my favorite things so I love when new wine trails in Hermann approach.  Making breakfast and cleaning rooms together is still a joy in this season of life, but getting the chance to sit, sip, and savor the treats on the wine trail is always a blessing.

The line up for this year’s Holiday Fare Hermann Wine Trail was fantastic.  Soups and sweets and much more were such a delight to share together.  Since my wife is not only a fabulous wife, mother, singer, whistler (hopefully you’ve heard her during breakfast), and cook, she is also an amazing decorator.  That’s why the decorations along the trail were so enjoyable as well.  Pumpkins and Christmas trees, turkeys and falling leaves were all around us.

As you may have experienced a romantic getaway in any one of our Missouri tree houses, we invite you to take some time at the end of this year and reflect on the blessings you’ve experienced.  We’ve definitely been blessed by you visiting us and we hope that you’ll visit us in Hermann again soon.
