2018 Chocolate Wine Trail Recap

February 19, 2018 By lee Leave a Comment

Hey all,

I took my wifey out for a day around Hermann and surrounding wineries this past weekend just like a tourist.  =)  The tickets sold out super fast so I’m very excited we were able to go. Had a great time and loved trying all the fun foods and wine pairing from the 7 different wineries on the Hermann Wine Trail.  This wine trail is dedicated to chocolate!!!  Luckily, my sweetheart has a sweet spot <wink> for chocolate so extra brownie points for me.  (See what I did there)

Better than that, we were able to make the entire trip in just one day.  We braved the weather and mud but at the end of the line the sun started to peek out and warm our beautiful little town up.  Here’s a quick little recap of everything we were able to taste.

Robller Vineyard

Dish – Mexican Mole Tort, inspired by the tamale and made with a Mexican Chocolate Mole’

Wine – Gabrielle’s Blush

Bias Winery

Dish – Gooey Black Bottom Cupcake

Wine – River Mist

OakGlenn Winery

Dish – Pasta with a Marinara and Cocoa

Wine – Norton

Star Lane / Three Saints

Dish – Chocolate Torta Soffice

Wine – Cabernet Sauvignon

Hermannhof Winery

Dish – Which Chocolate and Toffee Blondie

Wine – Germantown

Adam Puchta Winery

Dish – Chocolate Chip Scone with Brie Cheese and Black Berry Reduction

Wine – Black Berry

Stone Hill Winery

Dish – White Chocolate Mousse with a Vignoles Cherry Sauce, served in a dark chocolate shell

Wine – Vignoles

One Great Day!

Yes, I promised my wife a day throughout the wineries but we had our 7 year-old son come with us since our babysitter options were limited.  He was such a trooper throughout the whole trip.  He even decided to give Spiderman a heart.  Awwww.  =)

Here are some more pictures of our day …
